When beginning your search from the Library's home page or performing a "New Search," you may either limit your search to a general location/institution or by format of material. (More information about "Getting Started" in CBBcat.)
After your initial search, the following additional options are available for limiting your results:
An "Advanced Keyword Search" option, that allows you to easily combine multiple search terms and to select multiple limiting options, is available when you begin your search under the search box.
Not finding what your need or need help with your search?
1. When beginning your search, you may limit to a general library location or institution, i.e. Bowdoin, OR to a particular format, i.e. Books, Video, eBooks. (More information about "Getting Started" in CBBcat.)
2. After performing your initial search additional options are available for limiting your results:
a. An option to "Limit Search to Available Items"
b. AND, one of two options above the search box, either "Modify Search" or "Limit/Sort Search,"
(The "Modify Search" option is present after performing a keyword search and will provide an input box for adding additional terms to your search. The "Limit/Sort Search" option is present after performing non-keyword searches such as "Author," "Subject,"or "Title.")
After clicking on either, "Modify Search" or "Limit/Sort Search",
1. Click and highlight, or enter your limits, in one or more of limit option boxes:
2. Click "Submit"
The submit button may appear at the bottom of the page,
or in the middle of the page under the search terms box.
Depending on your intial search, keyword ("Modify Search") or non-keyword, such as author, title, and subject ("Limit/Sort Search"), additional limiting options may be available.
